REDMOND, OR, November 8, 2010 – MEDISISS, an FDA-registered medical device reprocessor, has announced it will begin delivering customer product in Tyvek single pouches and chipboard boxes.

According to company CEO, Jason Wandersee, the move is in response to client feedback and achieves more than one objective. "In responding to our market, we'll provide more robust packaging while maintaining our focus on environmental health. By shifting from double-pouched paper, we are significantly reducing packaging material waste which otherwise would be destined for the landfill."

MEDISISS Chief Operating Officer, Jason McKibbin pointed out that the company is going with a heavy-duty strength woven material, which offers additional benefits. “Our Tyvek pouches will offer an improved microbial barrier,” McKibbin explained, "and our overall process has been validated to ISO 11607 standards."

As part of MEDISISS’ new delivery approach, Tyvek-secured products will be shipped in chipboard boxes and packed in a manner designed to upgrade device transport safety.

"These boxes" said McKibbin "can also be taken directly into the Sterile Core, providing another layer of convenience for healthcare facility staff members". McKibbin added, "Sequential product packaging will also facilitate our customer's verification of shipment contents against the packing list."

The packaging enhancements are effective immediately with all customer shipments.
